The Tri-Cities difference

Hard Water Is the Whole Story

Kennewick and Pasco sit near seven grains per gallon; Richland tests around 11.5 — among the hardest municipal water in Washington. Scale coats heater elements, narrows jet passages, loads filters and binds impellers. Most of what we repair traces back to it, and most of what we recommend is about slowing it down.

1

Descale at every drain

A flush with each refill keeps calcium off the element instead of on it.

2

Sequester weekly

A weekly dose keeps minerals suspended so they leave with the next drain.

3

Filters on a schedule

Hard water bakes into pleats; a soak-and-swap rotation keeps flow up and FLO codes away.

4

Lighter covers

A waterlogged cover doubles heater run-time — the cheapest fix in the yard.

Carlos and Jake

Carlos has run Desert Spa Repair's van for twelve years and has opened more Tri-Cities equipment bays than anyone we know; Jake came on three seasons ago and handles most of the Pasco and Finley route. Between them they have seen every way hard water can ruin a heater — and most of the ways it can be prevented.

Questions

Before You Call

Do you repair every hot tub brand?
Yes — Jacuzzi, Hot Spring, Sundance, Caldera, Bullfrog, Arctic, Marquis, Master Spas and the rest, plus the Balboa and Gecko packs inside them. Out-of-warranty work is most of what we do.
How fast can you come out?
Same-day visits happen most days, next day almost always. Tell us the symptom on the phone and we bring the likely parts.
What does the visit cost?
Diagnosis first, then one written price for the repair that you approve before we start. No published price list, because no two failures are alike.
Do you sell or install hot tubs?
No. Repair only — pumps, heaters, packs, jets, leaks and maintenance inside the cabinet. Installations and house wiring go to a dealer or an electrician.
Bay Notes

What We Tell Owners at the Cabinet

Short, practical, and written down so you do not have to remember it.

Cover on, temperature down

A saturated cover makes a good heater look weak. Lift it — if it takes two people, it is part of the problem.

Before calling about no heat

Check the filter and the water level. A FLO code is a flow problem first and a heater problem second.

Mark the level

Tape at the waterline for 24 hours with the cover on separates evaporation from a leak.
